AWARDS WEEKEND
FRIDAY 28th & SATURDAY 29th AUGUST 2020
We are pleased to tell you that the committee have agreed to run this event in August over the bank holiday weekend, Friday 28th & Saturday 29th August, still utilising the marquee. The format will be finalised in the future but we have agreed that it will take on the theme of “A Celebration”. The youth players will all receive their seasonal trophy to remember the 2019/20 season and we will still look to give out some of the perpetual trophies to the nominations and winners, but these will be finalised by committee and mangers closer to the time. The adult teams will have no trophies, as the season has been null and void by The FA and local leagues. The trophies list on offer will be much smaller than previous season as although some of our teams have only 4 or 5 games to go, others had only played 4 or 5 league games all season. It was unanimously felt that giving out trophies just for the sake of it is an unnecessary use of funds (adults and youth) when other items, charities and organisations could benefit more. The weekend will look to host matches to incorporate as many of our 14 teams as possible and celebrate the life of our Chairman and Head groundsman Mr David Searle. The invitation to the Saturday event will be open to everyone involved in our club in the past, present and future as well as Dave’s family and friends. However this day will only go ahead in memory of Dave if all restrictions are lifted and all of his family can be present.
The annual, impressive evening that celebrates our amazing Youth Section is set to take place in the Marquee. Please remember that included within a membership is 4 tickets (exactly 2 adults and 2 children). However this does require members to support all fundraising events between now and then in order to raise the thousands of pounds it takes to put on.
The tickets/wrist bands will be given out and made available as they were last year 1 month prior to the event. Everyone, including coaches will need to arrange collection on a Friday evening or Saturday morning from the clubhouse. We will only being selling 500 tickets and deadline dates and numbers will be strict so that other deadlines are met. Dates and deadlines will be announced asap
