Friday 27th February, Treyew Road, 7:00pm Kick Off

As part of the Cornwall Schools FA centenary year the association has been rewarded with the honour of hosting the opening international fixture for England Schoolboys Under 18s versus Wales Schoolboys Under 18s due to be played on Friday 27 February 2015 at Truro City FC with a 7pm kick off.

The fixture is a fantastic reward for the small number of past and present volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to provide school children of all ages, gender and ability with the opportunity to compete in county cups and leagues and represent their county in regional and national competitions. It also coincides with the Cornwall FA and Truro City FC 125 year’s celebrations.

England are the current holders of the Centenary Shield, which sees them compete against Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland and are hoping for a strong start against the Welsh which will hopefully be helped by a big crowd at Treyew Road.

It has also been confirmed that FIFA & Premier League Referee and FA Cup Final Referee Lee Probert will officiate the fixture with local young officials Ben Judd and Ciaran Barlow acting as his assistants.

Tickets are priced at £6.00 per adult and £3.00 per child (16 and under) with group bookings available for affiliated schools and clubs. Match tickets and enquiries are available by contacting Mr Alan Yendell on (07805) 265650 or email adyendell@callingtoncc.net

Please find attached at the bottom of the page a poster for the event and a ticket application form which you can email to adyendell@callingtoncc.net

Cornwall Schools FA chairman Ray Brown commented ‘It is fantastic to have the first ever International in Cornwall to mark the Cornwall Schools Centenary. It is extra special that the celebration also includes the 125th Anniversary of both Cornwall FA and Truro City. We are very honoured to be hosting such a prestigious occasion.
