The weather was ok, the bbq did well and the teams performed. Our U12s on Saturday never looked back with a hatrick from Sam Etherington and a goal from Bethany Prowse, put them in the final and made the first part of super Sunday look very positive. The game was excellent and all played in the right sprit even though it was stopped after literally a few minutes for a massive hail storm which saw even the referee take cover. At the end of the match FA Cup replica footballs were presented to Sam for his Hatrick and Bethany for being named match sponsors Ryan Matthews of MAP plumbing’s Lady of the Match.
The Under 11 manager who now felt the pressure was on to also succeed set the stage for Sunday. In a warm up game the under 9s won 1-0 in a brilliant well contested match against Falmouth Utd. We then turned our attention to what turn out to be a breath taking semi-final. The U11s were 1-0 down to Wendron with approximately 40 seconds to go when Sam Tellam poked the ball into the net to send it to extra time. Another great solo effort from Blaise and great determination Sam once again scored. Blaise capped of a very stressful but happy weekend by also adding to the score sheet. At the end of the match FA Cup replica footballs were presented to Blaise for being named match sponsors Ryan Matthews of MAP plumbing’s Man of the Match. The club also thought it was only right to present the final FA cup ball to wendron's Man of The Match.
