Almost 450 boys and girls played some fantastic football in the friendly format Festival with Under 7's and 8's playing 5 v 5 and the Under 9's and 10's playing 7 v 7-topping numbers across the previous Season's Festivals too.
At the end of each groups fixtures all players were presented with a participation certificate and the Under 7's group and Under 8's group each joined together in a mixed up photograph as part of the FA's Football Remembers Project reflecting the Christmas Day Truce of 1914 when German and Allied troops across the Western Front played impromptu football matches in no mans land.
Under 10's player Tom commented, "I have had so much fun this morning, its great playing football against so many different teams in one day."
Under 9's coach Jimmy Gazzard commented, "Great Festival thank you to the KYFL for organising it - 3 of our new players got the opportunity to have their first experience of playing for the team today which was brilliant!"
As the youngsters cheered their appreciation to their coaches, parents and referees for the event there was a resounding 'Yes' from each and everyone when they were asked if they would like the KYFL to run another Festival in the new year.
