"Celebrating 50 years services in 2014"

5, 6 & 7 aside Tournament 2020
Sat 8th August 2020 (U7s – U12s)
Sun 9th August 2020 (Youth, Girls, Walking & Adults)
Vogue Park, Home of St Day AFC

St Day Youth AFC would like to invite your teams to come and join us at our 7th annual football tournament, which will be played at St Day Football Club on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th August 2020. Many enquiries have come as to if this will still run, with many local and our international tournament being cancelled. We have already taken many application forms and payments plus this year more than ever, for obvious reasons we are keen for this event to run, it maybe something to kick start football in our community once again as well. That said we are keen to give it ever possible chance so the original date of the end of July will not be used and we will be moving the date to Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th August.
We have once again taken on feedback from last year’s visiting teams and have made the following amendments; U7s-U12s will play 7 a side on the Saturday. However on the Sunday we are looking to incorporate as much football as possible across our 6 marked out pitches. We are keen to hear from U13s, U14s & U15s mixed teams as we have in the past, but these categories have sometimes struggled to gain entries. Therefore, we are keen to also hear from U10s and U12s girl’s teams (5 or 6 aside) and walking football teams (5 a side) to see if we can involve them in our celebration of the dedication of the services of Dave Searle. The Sunday tournament will also run alongside two adult pitches in our annual Sheldon Mitchell 5 a side memorial tournament that has been running for many, many, years now.
Across the whole weekend it will be encouraged that teams will play with the number of players stated above and with a maximum of 3 subs allowed. Each game played will be 6 mins each way. (This will depend on the size of the league and we aim to ensure each player has the opportunity of a minimum 1hr playing time.) There will be only 1 league per age group and we will look to take 6 teams maximum per league.
The Fair Play Cups for each age group will once again run alongside the matches. The cups are in memory of a club stalwart Kerwin Prisk, a gentleman that held most positions within the club and gave 54 years dedicated service. We feel it only right in his memory that the Fair Play Cups were named after him. Can we please ask the winning teams of them in 2019, that they are returned to St Day AFC by any means possible. We do have some but are still more than half outstanding.
